न्यू योर्क सहर् घुम्न गर्न गएको बेला को कुरा हो | त्यो दिन हाम्रो Statue of Liberty जाने कार्यक्रम थियो | होटेलमा बिहान को ८ बजे तिर ब्रेक्फास्ट खान क्याफे तिर जादै थियौ | मोबाइ बजेको झै भान भयो अनी गोजी बाट निकलेर हेरे | गोजिमा अघिल्लो दिनका बिलहरु सँग खुज्रा पैसा पनि रहेछ : मोबाइल निकल्दा एउटा quarter खस्यो | एसो हेरे , उठाउ श्रीमतीको टोकस आउँला भनी न् उठाई अगाडि बडे | १०-१२ पाइला हिडि सके पछी पछाडि बाट आवाज आउछ : excuse me sir , एसो फर्केर हेरे होटेलको स्टाफ , दाइने हातमा मैले झारेको quarter बोकेर " You drop it sir " भन्दै मेरो अगाडि हात बढाउछ | एती सम्ममा श्रीमती र बच्चा हरु पनि पछाडि फर्केर हेरी सकेका थिए | म अक्क न् बक्क भए , मैले झारेको quarter लिनै पर्यो , अनी त्यो मोरो तेही ठिङ उभीई रह्यो | श्रीमतीले कुइना मारेर नेपालीमा बक्सिस लिन बसेको बक्सिस दिनुस भनिन । तेही quarter दिनु भएन, वालेटमा सबै भन्दा सानो छुट्टा ५ dollar रहेछ तेही दिए पछी थ्यांक यू भन्दै त्यो आफ्नो गन्तब्य तिर लाग्यो |
आफ्नै एक quarter को लागि ५ डलर् मा हुस्सु सौदा गरियो ?

मेरो चाहिं उल्टो भाको थियो। स्टिर्प क्लब गाको अर्जेन्टाइन मोरीलाई काखे डान्स गराइ हाले । खल्ति छाम्छु जम्मा १० डलर र केहि चानचुन गरेर १५-१६ डलर जति थियो। अब आपत... काखे डान्सको २० डलर।के गर्ने। त्यही पनि मोरीलाई भने, "हनि, इफ यु डोन्ट माइन्ड, आइ गटा पेए यु इन पार्ट चेन्ज। उसले च्यापु उचालेर "इट्स ओके भनि। खल्तिमा भए जति निकालेर दिएं अनि उसले गन्नु अघि नै त्यहा बाट बिलाएं। साथिनिर गएर अब जाम के भन्न लाको थिएं, मोरी त हात उठाउदै "हे यु शोर्ट मि फोर डलर" भनेर चिच्चाउन थाली। साथीलाइ ,ओए यो रांडिलाइ ५ डलर दे त, भनें। उसले दियो अनि हामी त्यहा बाट टि. ए. पि.टाप हान्यौं अनि फर्केर गएनौं ।
