While I was on OPT and my wife was pregnant, I did not have insurance. So we got help from State, got prenatal care insurance and we used it for around 4 months, about 6 doctor visits, or less. We did not use WIC or anything else. After that, I got my job and we had insurance, plus we paid everything else out of our pockets, whatever we needed to pay and did not ask for any additional help.

Now I am about to apply for I-485 there is a question in the form which says have you received any assistance? I am more inclined to say yes and explain what we got and what we used it for. I am inclined to say Yes on my wife's form and say No on mine, as technically she is the one who received it.

I know getting prenatal care is not Public Charge and should not affect the outcome of the application based on just this, but I wanted to get opinion from Sajha gurus, if anyone has been through this before and know if there was anything I should be careful about before I sent the form with YES for my wife's application.

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts/comments!

If it's not a public charge issue then I'd advise to go with your inclination. Better to leave it out in the open rather than some DHS prick try to hassle you if he finds it out during the background investigation.
